How many hours does hair transplant surgery take?
The operation takes 6-8 hours, depending on the number of grafts taken.
What is a graft? How many hair roots do one graft mean?
The graft is the hair follicle taken from the neck and the hair follicle that produces hair. One graft may contain 1-3 strands of hair.
Which situations hair transplantation are not performed?
Hair transplantation cannot be performed when the nape, body hair or beard is unsuitable.
When can I exercise after hair transplantation?
15 days should be suspended to exercise. After 15 days, light sport activities like walking, jogging can be done. Football and similar sports involving risks such as impacts should be suspended for at least three months.
Are there any traces in the transplanting or the roots areas?
There is no trace of FUE –DHI techniques.
How long after hair transplantation can the sea and sauna be entered?
It should not enter the sea, sauna or bath for a month due to the risk of infection.
How long after a hair transplant can be shaved?
Scissors that can be used without touching the scalp should be preferred for shaving. The donor area can be shaved to compensate for the difference in length between the hair follicles and the hair in the transplanted area three weeks after the operation. The transplanting area can be shaved one month after hair transplant.
When does hair begin to grow in the hair transplanted area?
Hair transplanted from the roots of hair transplantation begins to grow after 1 – 1.5 months. At first, the hair is weak and the majority of them are completely shed as which we called shock shedding. After that, permanent hair comes out of these roots. The obvious effect of hair transplantation is seen after 3-4 months. It is only completed in 9-12 months after the hair grows completely and reaches its real thickness in the planting area.
Does the hair grow again from the root areas?
Hair does not grow again in the root areas. The existing hair covers to tissue taken area and no trace.
How long after hair transplantation can hair transplantation be done again?
If a second hair transplant is necessery, it is recommended to wait at least 6-7 months. The ideal time to wait is at least 1 year.
How many times can hair transplantation be performed?
This process requires sufficient number of hair follicles to be transplanted in the donor area and transplantation can be performed as long as the donor area is sufficient.
Do the grafts taken from different places outside the neck get a natural appearance?
Roots taken from regions outside the nape are preferred for filling the spaces. It is not always a preferred method. Alternatively (compression) may be used.
Can hats be worn after hair transplantation?
A hat can be used unless touching the hair planted after hair transplantation
Is hair transplantation a painful procedure?
Nowadays, pain are not felt during hair transplantation.
Does hair transplantation cause of existing hair loss?
It is possible in theory but it is very rare in practice. When channels are opened prior to hair transplantation, the body or roots of existing hair may be unintentionally damaged at a subcutaneous level. Nevertheless the hair grows smoothly again.
What should be considered before hair transplantation?
Many medications should be discontinued one week before surgery. They should be avoided all blood-thinning substances as Aspirin with Coraspirin, alcohol and vitamin E. Giving smoking up is the best behaviour. You should either have a good breakfast or a meal before the surgery.
Who can transplant beard?
Men’s beards continue to grow to the age of 20 years. Beards grow in puberty and new beard growth is not possible. Therefore, anyone over the age of 20 can do to transplant beard.
Will my hair transplant be natural?
As the direction of the hair will be the same as the direction of your original hair, the results will be very natural and no one can not understand to the hair transplantation.
How much grafts can be transplanted in hair transplantation?
The number of grafts is calculated by looking at the person’s hair density and the graft is taken accordingly. Approximately 3500 to 5000 grafts can be obtained from a patient with an average hair density.
